New Zealand
New Zealand's South Island is the landscape event — fjords, glacier valleys, star-grade dark skies — and it wants February or November, when the light is long and the coach crowds are elsewhere. The North Island answers with geothermal country and Māori heritage. We plan it as a driving country: short days at the wheel, long stops where it counts.
Best for
- Fjords and alps
- Road journeys
- Dark skies
- Adventure with comfort
When to go
- Nov
- Early summer: lupins, lambs, and roads still quiet.
- Feb–Mar
- Settled late-summer weather; the fjords at their most photogenic.
