Greece
Greece in May or September — that is when we send people, when the Aegean is warm, the light is Homeric, and the caldera villages have room to breathe. The islands each keep a distinct temperament, and the mainland — Athens' reborn neighbourhoods, Delphi, the monasteries of Meteora — deserves more than its usual layover billing.
Best for
- Island temperaments
- Ancient sites
- Caldera sunsets
- Shoulder-season sea
When to go
- May–Jun
- Wildflower spring into early sea season.
- Sep–Oct
- The warm autumn sea; our preferred window.
